Yuta Nakayama was born on February 16, 1997 in Ryugasaki, Japan, where he took his first steps in football. He began his career at Kashiwa Reysol, making his debut for the first team in 2015. After four seasons in Japan, Nakayama made a breakthrough in 2019 and joined Dutch club Zwolle, for whom he played 84 games and scored six goals. He then gained experience in England, where he played for Huddersfield from 2022 to 2024. He then continued his career with Machida Zelvia, whose jersey he wore from 2024 to 2026. Nakayama has played for all of Japan's youth national teams, and made his debut for the A national team in 2019 and has since played 22 games.
