In the 1960s, the famous Džajić generation entered the scene, and in 1964 another cup trophy was won, the sixth in total. At the newly built Crvena zvezda Stadium, in front of 60,000 spectators, the home team celebrated in the final performance: Crvena zvezda – Dinamo (Zagreb) 3:0. The scorers were Prljinčević in the 35th minute, Jevtić in the 48th minute and Džajić in the 70th minute.

Previously Crvena Zvezda eliminated Metalac from Valjevo, Hajduk Stanko, Proleter from Zrenjanin and Novi Sad. Zoran Prljinčević scored five goals in just two games.
