Marshal Tito Cup trophy, Crvena zvezda defended it in 1959, defeating Partizan 3:1 in the final. There were 50,000 spectators at the JNA stadium, and the goals for Crvena zvezda were scored by: Maravić in the 11th and Kostić in the 57th and 70th minutes from penalties.
Previously Crvena zvezda eliminated Elektrostroj from Zagreb, Radnički (S), Lokomotiva from Zagreb and Rijeka. The best scorer in Crvena zvezda's history, Bora Kostić, had a fantastic goal-scoring performance in the cup competition: 5 matches - 11 goals.
