In the final match of 1958, they achieved a convincing victory against Velež from Mostar – 4:0. In front of 30,000 spectators at the JNA Stadium, the scorers for Crvena zvezda were: Kostić in the 61st and 71st minutes from penalties, Borozan in the 68th and Rudinski in the 73rd minute.
Previously, Crvena zvezda eliminated Jedinstvo, Budućnost from Podgorica, Dinamo from Zagreb and Partizan, with a 3:2 away win. Bora Kostić scored eight goals in five matches.
