Dejan Stanković has returned to Crvena zvezda

Dejan Stanković first took charge of Crvena zvezda in December 2019 and remained on the bench of our club until August 2022, achieving outstanding results. During his first spell as head coach of the red-and-whites, he won three Serbian league titles and two national cups.

Under the leadership of Dejan Stanković, Crvena zvezda also recorded significant successes on the international stage. Our club secured three consecutive appearances in the UEFA Europa League group stage, as well as two qualifications for the knockout phase of European competition. In the 2020/21 season, the red-and-whites reached the round of 32, while a year later they finished first in their group and directly qualified for the round of 16 of the Europa League. Before the end of his first tenure at the helm of the club, Stanković also secured another place in the Europa League group stage for the 2022/23 season.

After leaving Crvena zvezda, Dejan Stanković served as head coach of Sampdoria, Ferencváros, and Spartak Moscow. In December of this year, he returned to Crvena zvezda, his club and the environment in which he achieved his greatest coaching successes, with the aim of continuing a successful partnership and reaching new sporting achievements.
