Our players are full of optimism ahead of tomorrow's season opener at FK Spartaks Jūrmala, but is quick to point out that the Latvian champions mustn't be underestimated.
Centre-back Miloš Degenek believes Crvena zvezda’s quality will show.
“I expect the team to be at 100%. We’re prepared and looking to kick the season off with a victory. Spartaks are a good team with some very technical players, but we should be able to beat them if our approach is right. We’re can’t wait for the game to start!”
Our striker Nikola Stojiljković wants a strong start.
“We want to build an advantage in time for the return leg. We’ve seen a few of Spartaks’ games and we’ve seen that they are a solid team. We need to be focused from the start and not let them play the way it would suit them. It’s only start of the season, but we’re in decent shape. I expect us to improve as the season goes on, of course. I had a niggle in my hamstring, but now I’m fit and ready to go.”
