Guélor Kanga has signed a three-year contract with Crvena zvezda and thus made quite an astonishing return to Rajko Mitić Stadium!
The Gabonese midfield maestro was delighted to be back in Belgrade.
"I‘m pleased to be back. I‘ve enjoyed my time here before, had great relationships with people here and it‘s good to be back. I‘m excited at the ambition the board has shown me and I want to be a part of the project here because I‘m ambitious too!"
The 29-year old joins on a free transfer after his Sparta Prague contract expired. Kanga‘s experience should be a big asset for Crvena zvezda in the next three years.
"I‘m yet to talk to Head Coach Dejan Stanković, but I remember him as a great player. He‘s a football man and there is no reason he couldn‘t be a successful manager as well. I‘ll do my best to help him and the club achieve its goals – winning the Superliga title and playing in the group stage in European competition."
Kanga will have the chance to add to his tally of 13 goals and 21 assists that he achieved in his first spell with the club.
He will wear the number 8 shirt. Welcome back, Guélor!
