Our new signing Sékou Sanogo has been unveiled after arriving on loan from Al Ittihad Club. The Ivorian midfielder, who spent seven years plying his trade in Swiss Super League will spend 12 months at Rajko Mitić Stadium.
The 30-year-old met the press with a big smile on his face and was clear about his ambitions.
"I'm happy to be here. I've arrived to help the team do some good things. I want to with the title with this club and I especially want to win the Belgrade Derby. I've heard so much about the game and I know how important it is. It means the world to the fans so that's the match you really want to show how good you are."
Capped three times for his country, Sanogo has the experience and the attitude that's welcome in any team aiming for big results.
"Getting into the Champions League again would be so beneficial to everyone connected to the club. I've seen Zvezda's two match against my old club Young Boys back in August and I've seen what it means to the fans. European football is a must for a club with such big history."
Sékou says that the only way to succeed in football is to keep proving yourself and improve all the time.
"There is always pressure on footballers. To cope with it, you simply have to work every day to be better and to give more in the next match and in the next training session. The things you achieved in the past are fine, but they count for nothing when you arrive at a new club or start a new match. You have to give it all every time."
