Our team dominated from the get go, created a few chances in the first half, but somehow Proleter managed to remain goalless for nearly an hour of play, as attempts by Vulić, Pavkov and Simić weren’t good enough to beat Patrić in Proleter’s goal.
But all work paid off on 59 minutes when Mateo swept home a low cross from Veljko Simić and gave Vladan Milojević’s team the lead.
After the opening goal, the gaffer elected to send another striker on as Boakye replaces Simić. It proved fruitful as the team continued to search for openings. Milan Pavkov nearly added the second as he rounded the ‘keeper, but shot just wide from a good position.
Substitute Milan Jevtović produced a moment of magic as he used his tricks to get around two defenders before teeing up Richmond Boakye, who poked in to settle any nerves on 82 minutes and put Zvezda firmly on course for what was Vladan Milojević’s 100th win at the helm of our First Team.
