Vladan Milojević was forced to pick his team without the injured Richmond Boakye and suspended Branko Jovičić, but his starting eleven suggested his determination to win three points in Novi Sad and move within touching distance of another Superliga title.
After a rainy morning, the sun came out in Novi Sad just in time, so the Karađorđe pitch looked OK as the eight-placed hosts looked to end their three-match losing run at the start of this season's play-off stage.
But Vojvodina couldn't cope with Milan Pavkov. The big striker scored yet another brilliant goal on 22 minutes as he picked up a stray ball, controlled it in the air with a little touch before unleashing an unstoppable volley into the top corner of Rockov's net. An extraordinary strike!
With the hosts still reeling, Zvezda mounted a fine team move which resulted in another goal. Filip Stojković slid a low cross for Aleksa Vukanović and the forward finished well to add to his recent Večiti derbi goal.
Second half brought a more resilient Vojvodina team. The result didn't look like changing until the hour mark and the introduction of Ben. The Comorian forward showed great timing to get behind Vojvodina defenders, run onto a Marko Marin through ball and finish nicely past Rockov to make it 3-0.
Dejan Joveljić joined the party just after coming on as he swept home from a Čaušić's low shot. Vojvodina appealed of offside, but the young striker was well places and his goal stood.
There was still time for Joveljić to grab another goal as he scored from the spot with the last kick of the game after a foul on Dušan Jovančić.
It finished 5-0 to the Belgrade team who are now very close to retaining the title.
