Serbia U-21 international defender Milan Gajić joined Crvena zvezda on a three-and-a-half year contract. The talented right back arrives after a spell with Girondins de Bordeaux and is set to fly out to Belek and join his new team-mates.
The defender was happy to join the champions of Serbia.
“It’s a great feeling. I’m delighted with this move. There was a lot of speculation about my future recently and I’m glad it’s all finished and that I’ve become a part of the red and white family.”
Milan’s return to Serbian football marks a beginning of a new challenge.
“I’ve spent three and a half years abroad, gained plenty of experience and fully formed as a player. I’d like to win titles here and to play in European competitions on a regular basis. I’m eager to show everyone what I can do.”
Gajić was a member of the Serbia U-20 team that won the World Cup in New Zealand back in 2015. He was there with fellow defender Srđan Babić as well as current Crvena zvezda First Team Coach Milan Kosanović.
“I’ve spoken to Babić a lot ahead of this move. I know a few members of the coaching staff as well as some players from my OFK Beograd days. I’m sure I’ll fit in quickly and that I’ll be ready to help the team. There is a lot of pressure involved when you’re playing for a club this big, but I’m confident that I’ll be able to cope with it and play well. I want to repay everyone at the club for the confidence they showed me.”
