Crvena zvezda unveiled the first signing of the winter transfer window today. Defender Nemanja Milunović arrived to Rajko Mitić Stadium and was unveiled at our Media Centre after signing a contract that will run until June 2021.
Director of Football Mitar Mrkela presented our new player to the press.
"It a pleasure to introduce our first addition to the squad, a player who we've wanted for quite a while. We believe that the signing of Nemanja will improve our already mean defence."
The 29-year-old centre back stated that he believes that he's made the right move.
"It's an honour and a pleasure to sign for Crvena zvezda. There were some talks in the past transfer windows, so it took a while - but I'm happy to finally be here. This is also a big responsibility because the club has got some great results lately and we'll be expected to build on that."
Former Mladost and Borac stopper has spent three and a half years at BATE Borisov and was playing for the Belarus team that faced Crvena zvezda in last season's Europa League clashes.
"My team-mates were asking me about the atmosphere in Belgrade ahead of our visit. They all knew what we will have to deal with, but we still needed around 15 minutes of that match to get adjusted to the noise and actually start playing. Everyone knows that the fans are really important here and that they always help the team."
