Head Coach Vladan Milojević reshuffled his squad for this midweek cup encounter and has given some welcome playing time to the likes of Popović, Hajdin, Srnić etc. The players have done well to make the most of the chance that was given to them as they cruised to a win in Vranje.
Our players were quick to show that they mean business as they took the control early on. And such approach brought the opening goal after a quarter of an hour as Nikola Stojiljković got himself on the end of a Stefan Hajdin cross and beat Đurić.
The red and whites created a couple more chances before the break, but Sumaila and Jovičić couldn’t quite make their attempts count.
Veljko Simić replaced Nikola Stojiljković at the break as Zvezda looked to find another goal that would probably all but end the contest.
That goal came just after the hour mark as in-form Dejan Joveljić swept home after a nice move by Ebecilio and Srnić.
The game slowed down significantly after that second goal as Jevtović and Meleg were introduced for Zvezda.
Final whistle brought big celebrations from the away fans as Crvena zvezda started their Serbian Cup campaign on a high.
