Vladan Milojević fielded a strong-looking starting XI for this Superliga clash, with Goran Čaušić and Marko Marin making their debut for the club. Richmond Boakye also made his first appearance since his return from China.
Zvezda controlled the game since minute one with our attacking players looking full of energy and desire to create. Richmond Boakye's had an early chance after a clever play from Marko Marin. Even though the Ghanaian couldn't finish well on that occasion, it was a taste of what was to come.
Boakye broke free midway through the first hald and was fouled by Radnik's goalkeeper Nikola Vasiljević. Referee sent the goalkeeper off as the Ghanaian was in a goalscoring opportunity. It got a lot harder for the visitors.
Our own Black Star Richmond Boakye scored on his second debut after being found with by a pinpoint Marin pass. The Ghanaian took it first time and finished past Lekić to the delight of Zvezda fans - including the tennis superstar Novak Đoković, who popped around to watch his beloved team.
The opening goal gave Vladan Milojević's team some extra confidence. Marko Marin picked up the ball just outside the area, took a touch and unleashed an unstoppable drive that flew in at the far corner.
It was more of the same after the break as Brazilian Jonathan Cafu got his first goal for the club after a nice team move.
But this was Boakye's night. It was as if he never left as he picked up a ball inside the area and hammered a shot into the roof of the net to make it 4-0 just after the hour mark.
It was a great might for our debutants as Goran Čaušić also got on the scoresheet after finishing well from yet another useful Marin's pass. It was 5-0 with 20 minutes left to play.
Gobeljić, Simić and Stojiljković came on in the second half to replace Stojković, Cafu and Boakye respectively as Vladan Milojević looked to keep his players fresh for Tuesday's game with Napoli.
It was Nikola Stojiljković who made the most out of his involvement from the bench as he scored the sixth for the red and whites. Nenad Krstičić's beautiful diagonal ball was headed inside by Rodić and Stojiljković's done well to steer it home with his head.
