Crvena zvezda will host FK Spartaks Jūrmala tomorrow (17 July 2018) in the UEFA Champions League First Qualifying Round Second Leg in what will be our first home match of the new season.
After a slightly underwhelming goalless draw in last week’s away leg, Zvezda need a win to get in the right mood and into next round. Head Coach Vladan Milojević expects the fans to come and support the team in search of winning form.
“Last week we played a team that is a champion of their country and that has proved tough to beat. We have created a few decent chances, but we didn’t do enough to secure a win that would make this return leg a bit easier. But that’s in the past now. We have worked hard and prepared to give the fans a good performance.”
Milojević and his staff analyzed the first meeting and pointed out mistakes that need to be corrected.
“You need a few competitive matches to get into right rhythm and that’s normal. We aren’t there yet and we talked about what we can do to make it happen. We are physically a fit side, there is no doubt about it. So, our focus should be on the football we play. To do this I sometimes change my starting eleven. I’m pleased that I have options for every position.”
Slavoljub Srnić and Nikola Stojiljković are definitely out of tomorrow’s encounter.
“Slavoljub has only just returned to full training and Nikola picked up an injury last week, so we will have to do without them. Meleg wasn’t fully fit, so we were a bit worried about him, but he has been great in training in the past days so he is in contention.”
The match at Rajko Mitić Stadium will kick off at 20.30 (CET).
