Aleksandar Pešić is the fifth player to sign for Crvena zvezda in this transfer window.
The big 25-year-old striker joins from French Ligue 1 side Toulouse FC. He was unveiled to the press at Rajko Mitić Stadium by Mitar Mrkela, recently-appointed Director of Football.
„It‘s a great pleasure to welcome Aleksandar Pešić to the club. I know him quite well, having worked with him during my time at the Serbian FA. I actually tried to bring him to Crvena zvezda as a youth player some ten years ago, but it wasn‘t to be. But I‘m happy he‘s with us now.“
Pešić signs a three-year contract and is already training with his new team-mates.
„I‘m happy to be here. It‘s a huge honour to join for a club with such tradition and I‘m prepared to give my best to help the club win trophies. I‘m not 100% phisically, but I‘m training hard and I hope to be match fit as soon as possible.“
The big striker will wear the number 45 shirt.
„I can‘t wait to get started. I like playing in a system with two strikers, but I don‘t mind being part of any formation the coach wants me to play in. I know a few player from my Serbia U21 days as well as Ricardinho from my stint at Sheriff. I can‘t wait to be a part of this squad. I hope to score many goals and earn a Serbia national team call-up.“
