Partizan had the better chances early in the match with Leonardo going close from a free kick on 10 minutes and Đurđević wasting two chances.
Zvezda had their first goal attempt on 29 minutes when Slavoljub Srnić forced a good save from Kljajić when he shot on target from a narrow angle.
Second half offered more action, but Miodrag Božović's team still had problems creating chances. Srđan Plavšić replaced Hugo Vieira on 69 minutes, which left Crvena zvezda with no out-and-out striker on the pitch. On the other side, Partizan created slightly more going forward and Đurđević hit the crossbar after a good move.
The decisive moment came a minute from time when Leonardo scored after Đurđić headed the ball to the Brazilian.
Zvezda tried to salvage a point in the remaining minutes, but Ruiz couldn't find the net after rounding the home goalkeeper.
The match ended 1-0 to the disappointment of the red-and-whites.
