Crvena zvezda welcomed newly-promoted FK Bačka to Rajko Mitić Stadium and got another three points to maintain the winning string despite the recent international break.
Miodrag Božović gave a chance to goalkeeper Nemanja Supić to impress for the first time this season and the experienced 'keeper didn't disappoint.
The first half didn't offer too much in terms of excitement, but the home team still managed to score twice. Captain Aleksandar Luković made it 1-0 Zvezda on 12 minutes after Guélor Kanga has been brought down in the box by Đurić.
Montenegrin striker Petar Orlandić continued his spell of good form as he doubled the lead with a low finish from inside the box on 35 minutes. It was a fine move by Mouche who played the ball forward to Marko Petković and the defender did well to lay it off for Orlandić who hit the far corner.
The score didn't change for the rest of the match, but there was plenty to see in the second half as the champions created many chances. Srnić and Plavšić came off the bench and looked very god going forward, and they were both unlucky not to get on the scoresheet. Mitchell Donald was denied by the upright when he hit an absolute rocket from around 25 meters out.
The international break seems to have benefited Miodrag Božović's men who will be looking to the big match on Saturday when we make the shortest of trips to our rivals FK Partizan.
