Mirko Ivanić scored twice in the Europa FC win and reminded everyone of his ability. But the midfielder insists that, although scoring feels great, the final score is the priority.
The former Vojvodina and BATE Borisov man says that everyone at the team is striving to reach the group stage of a European competition.
“We didn’t start the Europa game well. There were nerves all around simply because all games in this competition are so important. But we grew in confidence as the game went on and scored five goals to give everyone a boost. Scoring a couple of goals was nice for me personally. I will try and score again. It’s a nice way to help the team, that’s for sure!”
Mirko isn’t getting carried away as he urges his team-mates to take it one match at a time, but he isn’t shying away from the club’s goal.
“We made it to the group stage in the Champions League in two previous seasons and we’re trying to make a habit out of it. We are working hard to reach the biggest stage in Europe because it’s significant for everyone at the club and the fans as well. We want to do well in every competition.”
